原文報道： FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- February 2, 2009 -- GKI Foods Inc. of Brighton, MI is recalling its candy products containing peanuts because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea （which may be bloody）, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections （i.e., infected aneurysms）, endocarditis and arthritis.
Our products have been distributed in bulk nationwide through retailers, wholesalers and firms who repack or sell our products under their own brand names.

GKI is recalling all of our peanut based products due to the expanded recall by Peanut Corp of America that included peanut types purchased by GKI Foods Inc.
GKI Foods Inc. has had no reports of any illnesses with any of our products to date.
To assist our customers in distinguishing recalled product from replacement product, GKI Foods Inc. is changing the color of our labels. Recalled product labels are black print on a white background. Replacement product labels will be black print on a blue background.
Customers who have purchased peanut related products from GKI may destroy the product or contact GKI for further direction at 248-486-0055 M-F between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST.
